Dr. Tochukwu Nwachukwu

Tochukwu is a performance-focused economist, policy analyst and management consultant with a strong track record of success and over two decades of senior management experience spanning the academia, banking, international development, management consulting, not-for-profits and the public sector. He has variously served as Special Assistant on Financial Sector to the Nigerian President, Technical Adviser to the Budget Office of the Federation and Head of Economic Intelligence and Research in one of Nigeria’s top Banks. Over the years, Tochukwu has acquired extensive international and national technical expertise in identifying critical economic and financial policy issues; developing research and capacity development strategies; and leading the review, development and management of a portfolio of international and economic development projects. His areas of expertise include Economic Research, Analysis and Modelling; Monetary and Fiscal Policy; Banking; Development Finance; Public Financial Management; Public Sector Governance; Monitoring and Evaluation; Impact Assessments; Public Policy Analysis, Political Economy Analysis, and Transparency/Accountability. Tochukwu’s intellectual abilities, transferable skills and professional experience have won him several international grants and scholarships, including a Visiting Scholarship to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington, D.C, as well as Ph.D thesis grant and thematic research grant both from the African Economic Research Consortium, Kenya. He has presented scholarly papers at the University of Oxford, UK, University of Potsdam, Germany and University of Valencia, Spain. He has also consulted for several international organizations including World Bank, African Development Bank, UKAID/DFID, UNICEF, EU, Mastercard Foundation, ONE Campaign, World Economic Forum, OGP, etc. He holds a Ph.D in Economics.
