Short Description

We carried out an up-to-date budget/fiscal space analysis in social sectors affecting children. The goal is to inform appropriate and targeted policy and programmes addressing the challenges to the equitable access to basic and essential social services by the most disadvantaged children. The 8 states are Adamawa, Bayelsa, Cross River, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Osun and Sokoto. Preston developed the template for the collection of materials and data from the different stakeholders in the selected states, including MDAs, House of Assembly, Children’s Parliament, Women Groups and CSOs. The field work consisted of data collection, review of relevant documentation, individual interviews with information-rich key informants and focus group discussion.
